I figured since I enjoy reading other's blogs, maybe someone else would enjoy reading mine! I also think that writing (or in this case, typing) your thoughts can be incredibly therapeutic, so here it goes.

I suppose a good way to start this would be to explain the title I've chosen.

Many of you are probably instantly familiar with the lyrics I've taken from a favorite hymn of mine, "Great is Thy Faithfulness." Now, initially, this may sound cliche, but the longer I live, the more I cling to and love to proclaim the words of this song.

Often, while feeding Hudson his bottle before sending him off to bed, I sing medleys of songs, usually hymns, old and new. Tonight, I sang "He's Always Been Faithful" by Sarah Groves and then the aforementioned hymn. This past year, so many times, I've looked down at Hudson or thought of him while singing, "morning by morning, new mercies I see..." This past year, so many times, my heart has been overwhelmed with gratefulness to the Lord for the new mercy that Hudson has been to Isaac, my family, and me. The awe and wonder of his little new life has been so mercifully redeeming for us. I know that I haven't experienced the greatest pain, heartache, or loss known to man, but this year did provide for me the greatest pain I've ever felt the very day after the greatest joy I'd ever felt. The tragedy that followed the day after Hudson's birth is not what I want to talk about today. Please know that my grief is still very raw and there are others who are more deeply affected by that day and their grief is so much greater than mine,

BUT, they undoubtedly know and are eternally confident, just as I know and am confident that "all I have needed, Thy hand hath provided" and "Thou changest not, Thy compassions they fail not" and "GREAT is THY faithfulness, Lord, unto me."

These are the songs I sing in my heart, these are the words I cling to, His Word is what I hope in, He is the only God that provides true and lasting "strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow."

I pray this blog will bring glory and honor to His name and be a testament to the new mercies that He provides in every one of my life's mornings.
